We were introduced to the SR40V in 2017 and when it was first handed to us it felt like a freakin' hand grenade. The domestic craftsmanship that goes into these mics can never go unnoticed. We were excited to have an Earthworks mic that wasn't made for measurement or instrument recording, but for vocals ... live vocals. The all black SR40V has a frequency range spanning from 50Hz – 40kHz and utilizes a hyper cardioid pickup pattern for max gain before feedback. Built like a rugged dynamic mic, what sets this mic apart is its ability to deliver detailed and realistic sound that requires little to no EQ along with benchmark levels of clarity and detail. We won't even go into transient response. It seems that Earthworks is simply unmatched in that category. If they're good enough for Toto and FOH Engineer Ken Freeman on their 2017 tour, then they might be good for you too .. no pressure.
