VP89L Overview
The Shure VP89L long shotgun microphone is a modular system with interchangeable capsules, making it adaptable for both indoor and outdoor recording scenarios. With an ultra-narrow 30° acceptance angle, it offers precise, highly directional sound capture.
Built for durability yet lightweight, the VP89L ensures reliable performance with minimal susceptibility to hum, GSM noise, and radio-frequency interference. Its phantom-powered preamp includes a switchable low-cut filter to reduce unwanted bass frequencies, such as rumble, and features a standard XLR 3-pin output for easy connectivity.
Equipped with a Class-A, discrete, transformerless preamplifier, the VP89L delivers a clean, fast transient response with minimal harmonic and intermodulation distortion—free from crossover distortion. Additional short and medium-sized capsule barrels (sold separately) allow users to customize rejection angles and frequency responses for different recording needs.
